Seventh-inning home runs from Griffin Conine and Kennie Taylor powered Duke to an 8-5 victory over Georgia Monday afternoon to set up a winner-take-all final to follow in the NCAA tournament Athens Regional.
The winner of the second game will advance to the NCAA Super Regionals to face nationally ninth-seeded Texas Tech.
Duke (43-16) posted its third consecutive come-from-behind victory in fighting out of the losers’ bracket. This time, the Blue Devils came from three runs down to tie the game heading to the seventh inning.
With one out and the game tied at 5, Conine launched a 1-1 fastball over the right-center field wall.
