DURHAM – Duke split a doubleheader against High Point on Sunday afternoon at Jack Coombs Field in Durham.
The Blue Devils (19-23, 8-13 ACC) topped High Point (15-28, 7-8 Big South) in game one of the twin bill, 14-2, but fell to the Panthers 11-0 in the nightcap.
High-scoring seventh and eighth innings and strong pitching lifted the Blue Devils past High Point in game one. After jumping out to a 3-0 lead through the first five innings, Duke scored three in the seventh and eight in the eighth to pull away from the Panthers.
