The Women’s World Amateur Golf Rankings were recently released and Blue Devil Leona Maguire was ranked as the #1 women’s amateur golfer in the world. She was joined in the rankings by Duke senior Celine Boutier, who was ranked 18th.
Leona Maguire has excelled at Duke since arriving on campus last year, breaking nearly every freshman record in addition to overall program records on the way to earning numerous freshman and player of the year awards. The Cavan, Ireland-native has consistently been one of the top women’s amateur golfers in the world and currently holds a dominant 99 point lead in the rankings over the next golfer in second place.
