NOTRE DAME, Ind. – Duke shut out Notre Dame, 2-0, behind excellent pitching performances from junior Jack Carey and sophomore Marcus Johnson to win the series finale Sunday at Frank Eck Stadium.
Carey made his fifth start of the season and enjoyed his best showing of the year after allowing just one hit and one walk in 6.0 innings of scoreless baseball. The Summit, N.J., native also tallied four strikeouts during his time on the hill.
Johnson made his second relief appearance of the weekend to earn the save.
