INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – Backed by a strong performance at the ACC Championship, the Duke rowing team received the program’s first NCAA Championship bid Tuesday, according to a release by the NCAA. Duke was an at-large selection to the field of 22 schools and will compete in the national regatta at the Sacramento State Aquatic Center in Gold River, Calif., May 27-29.
Racing at the NCAA event will include the V8, 2V8 and V4 boats. The three boats from each school will compete for individual national titles while earning points toward the overall team championship.
The Blue Devils will enter the championship as the 14th seed in the V8, the 11th seed in the 2V8 and the 12th seed in the V4.
