DURHAM, N.C. – The Duke women’s lacrosse team will open the 2019 campaign ranked 24th in the country, as released by the Intercollegiate Women’s Lacrosse Coaches Association (IWLCA) in its Division I Preseason Poll Monday.
Boston College, the 2018 NCAA runners-up, took the top spot in the poll with 622 points and 22 first-place votes. Maryland and North Carolina (one first-place vote) were tied for second with 579 points, followed by reigning NCAA champion James Madison (536 points, two first-place votes) and Stony Brook (505 points).
