CHAPEL HILL, N.C. – Opening the 2019 indoor campaign with the Dick Taylor Carolina Cup, the Duke women’s squad earned a first-place team victory while the men’s team finished in second place on Saturday afternoon in the Eddie Smith Field House on the campus of North Carolina.
The Blue Devil women clinched the title with 57 points to gain three wins and move their 3-0 (2-0 ACC) on the young season, while the men tallied 47 points to earn their second-place finish, securing two wins to set its record at 2-1 (1-1 ACC). On the women’s side, North Carolina (42) placed second, with Wake Forest (35) finishing in third and East Carolina (23) placing fourth.
