GREENSBORO, N.C. – On a rather high-scoring day for the entire field, the No. 23 Duke men’s golf team managed to finish it near the top, compiling a score of 586 (+10) through Saturday’s first and second rounds.
Duke posted an even 288 in the first round and a 298 (+10) in the second, landing itself in second on the leaderboard. Entering Sunday’s final round, the team trails ACC rival North Carolina by four strokes.
As the 8:30 a.m. shotgun start unfolded, an uphill battle would follow, as only two of the eleven participating Blue Devils—both of whom were on the five-man lineup—finished the first round under par.
