Duke Overcomes 2-0 Deficit to Defeat Pitt in Five

DURHAM, N.C. – After rallying for a 2-0 deficit, Duke faced a 5-1 margin in the fifth set before closing out the match on a 10-5 run to defeat Pittsburgh 3-2 (22-25, 21-25, 25-23, 25-19, 15-10) Friday evening in Cameron Indoor Stadium.

Duke (9-10, 4-5 ACC) trailed 5-1 early in the fifth, but outscored Pitt (16-5, 6-3 ACC) 10-5 down the stretch to complete the comeback. Junior middle blocker Jordan Tucker put down three of her match-high 21 kills over the final nine points, including the gamewinner to seal the victory.

“We were trying to grind it out, trying to work as hard as we could,” said Tucker.
