WACO, Texas – Duke men's tennis opened the 2024-25 NCAA Men's Tennis NCAA Singles and Doubles Championships Tuesday by splitting singles results. Cooper Williams advanced in straight sets while Pedro Rodenas suffered a setback.
Williams topped Yale's Vignesh Gogineni 6-3, 6-4. Even at 1-1, 2-2 and 3-3 in the first set, Williams went on a hold-break-hold run to take it. Gogineni stormed out the gate in the second set with leads of 3-0 and 4-1. Williams then caught fire, winning the final five games to seal the victory.
