SYRACUSE, N.Y. – The 12th-ranked Duke women’s basketball team could not shake off a slow start in the Carrier Dome Sunday, opening ACC play with an 86-50 loss to Syracuse. The Blue Devils surrendered 14 treys and committed a season-high 32 turnovers to drop to 11-4 on the year.
Maggie Morrison of the Orange led all scorers with 25 points on 7-of-13 shooting from behind the arc. Syracuse also featured three other double-figure scorers while notching 24 fast break points and 27 points off of turnovers.
Sophomore Azurá Stevens turned in 12 points and 12 rebounds and junior Oderah Chidom added 10 points for Duke in the loss.
