DURHAM, N.C. – The 2018 baseball season begins this weekend as Duke travels to No. 15 Vanderbilt for a three-game series at Hawkins Field in Nashville, Tenn. This weekend’s series marks the first meeting between the two programs.
After posting its fourth straight 30-win season, Duke begins the 2018 campaign ranked nationally in three preseason polls (NCBWA No. 31, D1Baseball No. 25, and Perfect Game No. 20).
The Blue Devils return 22 letterwinners from this past season’s 30-28 team, including nine starting position players and three weekend starters. Preseason All-American outfielders Griffin Conine and Jimmy Herron headline that group as both return for their junior seasons.
