GREENVILLE, S.C. – Mike Krzyzewski has coached a lot of NCAA first-round games.
Some have been close. Some have been easy. Most have been wins – 27 out of 31.
Duke started the 2017 NCAA Tournament with a relatively easy one Friday night, coasting past No. 15 seed Troy 87-65 at the Bon Secours Wellness Arena.
Krzyzewski didn’t think the win was that easy.
“I thought we played well,” he said. “It might have been a 20-point game, but it was a hard 20-point game.”
Well, not that hard.
Jayson Tatum hit a 3-pointer on Duke’s first possession and senior Matt Jones followed with a steal and a breakaway layup.
