PHILADELPHIA – Senior forward Rose Tynan fired a pair of goals to lead the Duke field hockey team to a convincing 4-1 victory over fifth-ranked Penn State Sunday at Temple.
The fourth-ranked Blue Devils rebounded from consecutive one-goal losses to top-10 teams, improving to 4-2 on the season. Duke’s defense shined in the top-five battle, holding the Nittany Lions to a single tally inside the first 20 minutes.
Penn State broke through first in the neutral-site matchup, converting on a penalty corner opportunity just 19:23 into the contest. The Blue Devils quickly countered, with Tynan finding the back of the cage for the second straight game.
