WILMINGTON, N.C. – Three players posted red numbers on Sunday and the No. 20 Duke men’s golf team shot 280 (-8) in the first round of a rain-marred Seahawk Intercollegiate to take a one shot lead into the final day of competition at the Country Club of Landfall.
The Blue Devils will enter the final day of play with a one-shot lead on Army West Point and a six-shot advantage on tournament host UNC Wilmington.
“We didn’t expect to get as much rain as we did, and I think most teams had only played four or five holes before we had to bring everyone in off the golf course,” Duke head coach Jamie Green said.
