DURHAM, N.C. – Former Duke standouts Maddy Acton and Sarah Bullard helped lead the Boston Storm to the United Women’s Lacrosse League’s (UWLX) championship game over the weekend, rounding out the inaugural season for the professional league.
The league’s semifinals and finals were played at Homewood Field in Baltimore.
Acton and Bullard helped the Storm compile a 6-4 ledger in its first season. The squad reached the league final with a 10-3 victory over the Baltimore Ride, but fell to the Long Island Sound, 13-8, in Sunday’s title game.
