ORLANDO, Fla. – The top-ranked Duke women’s golf team sits in second after the first day of the ANNIKA Intercollegiate at the Reunion Resort’s 6,245-yard, par-72 Watson Course with an 11-under-par 277. The Blue Devils trail Southern California by just one stroke after the Trojans posted a 12-under-par 276 Sunday.
Texas A&M rounds out the top three after day one. The Aggies recorded a 10-under-par 278 and lead fourth-place Arkansas (284) and Tennessee (284) by six strokes.
Duke sophomore Leona Maguire registered a five-under-par 67, carding seven birdies, to pace the Blue Devils. The Cavan, Ireland, native was at even par over the first six holes, but picked up five birdies the rest of the day to move to five under.
