Duke’s starting quarterback suffered a ruptured left achilles in early February during some offseason conditioning drills and the assumption was that his Duke Football career was over. Sirk had already used a potential medical redshirt recovering from injury a couple seasons back. That supposed loss through a lot of uncertainty at the Duke program who thought they were going to have to prepare for a new starting quarterback, a transition that is rarely easy.
Recent news suggest that there is now hope that Sirk will be ready to play in Duke’s season opener against NC Central on September 3rd.
