ORLANDO, Fla. – With the help of two early home runs, Duke softball held off a seventh-inning rally from UCF, edging the Knights with a 3-2 victory at the UCF Softball Complex.
The Blue Devils finish the Black and Gold Invitational with a 4-1 record to open their 2020 campaign – the best start in program history.
Caroline Jacobsen began Duke's offense for the day with a two-run blast to left field for her second long ball of the weekend (2-0). The Blue Devils left runners on second and third as Gisele Tapia doubled and Kendyl Lange hit one up the middle before picking up her third stolen base of the year.
