DURHAM, N.C. – One day prior to its final home football game of the season, Duke University dedicated the Davis Family Kicking Field at the Brooks Practice Facility on Friday morning. The new surface, which measures 30 yards wide by 60 yards long and includes one regulation goalpost at the west end, was completed in September and is used exclusively by Duke’s kicking and punting specialists.
"Duke is, among other great things, an institution of opportunity,” Gary Davis said. “Our son, Tim Davis, walked on to the football team in 1988 and graduated in 1992 as the second team All-ACC punter and was an Academic All-ACC selection on a full scholarship.
