Duke Holds Annual Postseason Awards Banquet

DURHAM, N.C. – Duke All-Americans Grayson Allen and Brandon Ingram were named co-recipients of the 2016 Swett-Baylin Most Valuable Player Award at the Duke men’s basketball program’s annual banquet and awards ceremony held Thursday evening at Cameron Indoor Stadium.

Allen earned a combination of second and third-team All-America honors in recognition of a stellar sophomore season in which he led Duke in scoring and assists with averages of 21.6 and 3.5 per game, respectively. He scored 779 points – the seventh-best single-season total in program history and the second-highest scoring season ever by a Duke sophomore – and established a new ACC record for single-season scoring improvement with a jump of 17.
