Duke Golfer Sweeps Women’s Golf Coaches Association Awards for Player, Freshman of the Year

After recently being awarded with the 2015 ANNIKA Award for the NCAA Division I Women’s Golfer of the Year, Duke freshman Leona Maguire will add to her award-winning season after additionally being honored as the WGCA’s Player of the Year and Freshman of the Year awards after her record-breaking year for the Blue Devils.

Along with sweeping the WGCA awards, Leona Maguire also swept the ACC awards earning conference Freshman of the Year and Player of the Year, won a Duke record-tying 3 tournaments in the Darius Rucker Intercollegiate Title, the ACC Women’s Golf Individual Championship, and the NCAA South Regional Individual Title, and she was honored as player of the year with the ANNIKA Award.
