Two former Duke golfers, Kevin Streelman and Julian Suri, will be part of the PGA Championship’s 112-player field at the Bellerive Country Club in St. Louis.
Streelman, a 2001 Duke graduate and two-time winner on the PGA Tour, was the first alternate entering the week. The 131st-ranked player in the world did not know if he would have the chance to compete until Thomas Bjorn withdrew on Wednesday due to issues with his back.
The 39-year-old resident of Scottsdale, AZ, will be making his first appearance in a major since he failed to make the cut at the 2016 PGA Championship.
