Duke Golf: Blue Devil Becomes First Two-Time Winner of Top NCAA Award

Junior Leona Maguire was named the winner of the 2017 ANNIKA Award, given to the most outstanding female amateur college golfer. With this year’s win, she becomes the first player in NCAA history to win the award multiple times.

The ANNIKA Award is selected by votes from the student-athletes, coaches, and golf media. Leona Maguire had a historic season for the Blue Devils, breaking her own Duke and ACC records and finishing second in NCAA history for lowest stroke average with 70.29. During the regular season she won three events and never finished below sixth place all year.
