CARY, N.C. – Competing against a number of regionally ranked opponents, the Duke women’s cross country team turned in a second-place performance at the 22nd annual adidas XC Challenge in Cary, N.C., Friday afternoon. Duke’s 48 points trailed only NC State, who scored 19 points en route to the team victory.
The top-five finishing teams at the competition included a number of regionally ranked squads. In addition to NC State, the fourth-ranked team in the Southeast region, Elon, ranked 13th in the Southeast region, placed third with 87 points, while North Carolina, No. 3 in the Southeast region, placed fourth with 99 points.
