Duke Field Hockey will be heading to Ann Arbor, Michigan this weekend to compete in the semifinals for the 2015 NCAA Field Hockey championship. The Blue Devils compiled narrow wins over Stanford and Virginia in the regional rounds, hosted by the Cavaliers in Charlottesville, and will advance to the program’s 6th Final Four this weekend.
The first two tournament victories for the Blue Devils were defensive struggles, with Duke needing overtime in their first match-up to defeat Stanford in a 1-0 win. Then, Duke earned a 2-1 upset victory over 4th-ranked Virginia allowing only one goal after losing to the Cavaliers twice earlier this year, in the regular season and the ACC Tournament, and giving up a combined 9 points in those losses.
