STANFORD, Calif. – Duke could not shake off a slow start, falling to Loyola Marymount 3-0 (16-25, 22-25, 16-25) in the first round of the 2018 NCAA Tournament Friday evening at Stanford University’s Maples Pavilion. Following the program’s 20th NCAA Tournament appearance, the Blue Devils concluded the season with a 16-12 overall record.
“Loyola Marymount did a great job serving the ball,” said head coach Jolene Nagel. “They put pressure on us with their serve and it was difficult for us to get anything going offensively. LMU did a great job getting us out of system and taking us out of our game.
