DURHAM, N.C.—High Point sophomore Alex Abril scored in the 66th minute and the Panthers held off a late push from Duke to earn a 1-0 victory in non-conference men's soccer action Tuesday evening at Koskinen Stadium. The Blue Devils held a 14-5 advantage in shots for the game.
With the game scoreless, but Duke (6-6-2) dominating the action, High Point (10-5-0) scored the lone goal of the night against the run of play 20 minutes into the second half. Abril and senior Jonathan Bolanos broke out for the Panthers as the veteran found Abril on the left side of the penalty area.
