DURHAM, N.C. -- The Duke field hockey team earned one of eight at-large selections and will begin 2024 NCAA Championship action eight miles away in Chapel Hill, North Carolina against Maryland as announced Sunday night on the NCAA Division I selection show.
The Blue Devils take on the Terrapins in the opening round Friday, Nov. 15 at 1:30 p.m., at Karen Shelton Stadium. The other first-round game at the site features host and top-seeded North Carolina against the winner between Delaware and Fairfield. Both games will be aired on ESPN+.
Duke earns its 20th bid to the NCAA Tournament and second consecutive.
