TULSA, Okla. – Duke's doubles team of senior Nick Stachowiak and junior Sean Sculley earned a spot in the main draw with a thrilling win Tuesday evening at the 2019 Saint Francis Health System ITA All-American Championships.
After going 2-0 in doubles action Monday, Stachowiak and Sculley topped 53rd-ranked Justin Boulais and James Trotter of Ohio State Tuesday night in a third set super tiebreaker, 6-4, 4-6, 1-0 (10-2). The victory marked the first of the season over ranked doubles opponents for the Blue Devil tandem.
Stachowiak and Sculley move on to the doubles main draw, where they will face Arizona State's 26th-ranked duo of Andrea Bolla and Tim Ruehl Wednesday at 3 p.
