NOTRE DAME, Ind. – Graduate student Peter Matt was 4-for-6 at the plate, but Notre Dame rallied with the game's final four runs as the Duke baseball team dropped a 6-4 decision in 13 innings Friday night at Frank Eck Stadium in Notre Dame, Ind.
The Blue Devils out-hit the Fighting Irish 13-8, but a two-run home run with one out in the bottom of the 13th inning allowed the hosts to walk off with the series opener.
Matt had four hits and scored, while senior Joey Loperfido and junior RJ Schreck also recorded multi-hit outings for the Blue Devils.
