DURHAM – Duke fell to Wake Forest in the opening game of a three-game series, 5-2, on Friday night at David F. Couch Ballpark in Winston-Salem.
The Blue Devils dropped to 13-17 overall and 3-10 in ACC play while Wake Forest improved to 23-7 and 7-6 in league play.
Junior Graham Pauley led the Blue Devils offensively, going 2-for-4 with a run scored. Pauley's performance was his team-leading 12th multi-hit game of the season. Senior RJ Schreck extended his on-base streak to 13 games, going 1-for-4.
Junior Marcus Johnson started on the hill for Duke.
