CHAPEL HILL, N.C. – Despite moving locations due to severe weather in the area, the third-ranked Duke women’s tennis team rallied to defeat 23rd-ranked Virginia, 4-2, Friday evening in quarterfinal action at the Cone-Kenfield Tennis Center in Chapel Hill. With the victory, the Blue Devils improve to 22-2 overall.
“Virginia gave us everything they had. You want the best from teams and we got the best from them. Hopefully, it’s a good confidence builder for us that we can take someone’s best shot and use that to our advantage tomorrow.”
For the first time in 11-straight matches, the Blue Devils dropped the doubles point.
