DURHAM, N.C. – Duke played its first home game inside a renovated Brooks Field at Wallace Wade Stadium on Saturday against N.C. Central. The Blue Devils welcomed a full capacity crowd of 33,941 to the contest against the Eagles.
Coach David Cutcliffe’s Duke Football Show covered the renovation process and the first game inside the changed facility. Two of the highlights include the playing surface being lowered seven feet and the track removed. Installed as the new playing surface is an engineered bermudagrass Latitude 36 natural sod surface. The Latitude 36 began growing in June 2014 at the Precision Turf farm in Braselton, Ga.
