DURHAM, N.C. – The fifth-ranked Duke women’s tennis team advanced to the second round of the NCAA Championships by defeating James Madison, 4-0, Saturday evening in first round action in Ambler Tennis Stadium. With the victory, the Blue Devils elevate to 24-3 this season and continue their undefeated streak at home.
“First, James Madison played really well,” head coach Jamie Ashworth said. “They didn’t play with fear or with anything to lose. In spots, we played well but we have to be better. I thought maybe the two weeks off hurt us a bit.
