DURHAM, N.C. – After a shortened season due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Duke softball finished at No. 25 in the final ESPN.com/USA Collegiate Softball Top 25 Poll of 2020, as announced by the organization on Tuesday morning. This is the first time in program history that Duke has been nationally ranked.
The Blue Devils were receiving votes in the poll since Feb. 18 while Duke finished right outside of the top 25 in the USA Today/NFCA D1 Top 25 Coaches Poll, picking up 49 votes. Duke was only the second school in the ACC to be selected in final ESPN.
