BLACKSBURG, Va. – The Duke baseball team tallied 15 hits, including nine extra-base hits, but came up short in a slugfest against Virginia Tech, 15-11, at English Field at Atlantic Union Bank Park.
Duke (22-30, 10-18 ACC) and Virginia Tech (38-11, 17-9) hit five and six home runs, respectively. Both teams matched with nine extra-base hits, eight walks allowed and eight strikeouts. Duke out-hit Virginia Tech 15-14 but left nine men on base compared to four Hokies left on base.
Offensively, Duke was led by sophomores Alex Stone and Luke Storm and graduate student Chris Crabtree.
