CORAL GABLES, Fla. – The Duke baseball team came up short at No. 19 Miami, 3-1, on Friday to open a three-game ACC series at Mark Light Field at Alex Rodriguez Stadium in Coral Gables, Fla.
Redshirt junior Wil Hoyle led the Blue Devils at the plate, going 2-for-3 with a double for Duke's lone extra-base hit of the evening.
Junior Cooper Stinson started on the bump for Duke and was tagged with the loss for the Blue Devils. Stinson allowed three runs, all earned, on five hits, two walks and a hit batter.
