WILMINGTON, N.C. – After falling behind by nine heading into the final round of the Landfall Tradition in Wilmington, N.C., the fourth-ranked Duke women’s golf team carded a Sunday-best three-under, 285, to catapult into the lead late in the round. The Blue Devils passed second round leader, Arkansas, and concluded with a two-shot victory at the 6,166-yard, par 72 Country Club of Landfall Dye Course.
Duke senior Virginia Elena Carta and freshman Gina Kim finished the weekend tied for first, individually, with an even-par, 216. The victory for Carta was her second collegiate win and Kim’s win was the first of her short career.
