GREENSBORO, N.C. — Junior Matthew Whelan represented Duke in the 50 freestyle during the second day of the 2021 NCAA Swimming & Diving Championships on Thursday at the Greensboro Aquatic Center in Greensboro, N.C.
Whelan, a native of Richmond, Va., competed in his first career NCAA Championships event. He clocked a 20.08 in the 50 freestyle morning preliminaries to place 47th in the event.
Whelan is back in action tomorrow in the 100 butterfly during day three of the meet.
