Duke Clinches ACC Spot with 18-13 Win at Virginia

CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. –Duke senior attackman Justin Guterding had nine points from four goals and five assists to lead the third-ranked Blue Devils to an 18-13 victory over No. 10 Virginia in ACC men’s lacrosse action Saturday afternoon at Klöckner Stadium. The win clinches a spot in the ACC Tournament for the Blue Devils.

Duke improves to 11-2 overall and 3-1 in the ACC, while Virginia falls to 9-4 and 1-3 against league foes. Peter Conley contributed three goals and an assist, while Joe Robertson had three tallies as well. Brian Smyth came off the bench to win 8-of-14 faceoffs and scored two goals.
