SAN DIEGO, Calif. – The Blue Devils earned two wins on the first day of the 2022 ITA National Fall Championships.
Senior Garrett Johns started the day with a 6-2, 6-3 victory over Pierce Rollins of Texas A&M in the singles tournament. A few minutes later, fellow classmates Michael Heller and Andrew Zhang registered their first doubles win, after besting Younes Lalami and Brandon Perez of Old Dominion 6-2, 7-5.
Johns, who is the No. 1 overall seed in the singles tournament, faces Stanford's Max Basing in the round of 16 on Thursday at 10:15 a.
