DURHAM, N.C. – Sophomore Anna Callahan recorded her first career hat trick to power the Duke women's lacrosse team (3-2) to breeze by George Washington, 21-6, Saturday afternoon in Koskinen Stadium.
The Blue Devils had a balanced attack, featuring 13 different goal scorers and eight players tallying at least one assist.
Junior Abby Landry scored the first goal of the game off a free position shot before the Colonials (0-3) netted two to take an early lead with 23:56 remaining in the first half. Duke responded by going on a four-goal run, courtesy of Lindsey Reynolds, Callahan, Veronica Hineman and Olivia Carner, to go up, 5-2.
