The loud road the folks hear from West 33rd Street in Manhattan is coming from about six miles south of them in Brooklyn as the Nets have inked Kyrie Irving to a max contract.
Irving has been linked to the Nets for quite some time now and the two sides officially agreed on a contract at this 6:00pm EST on June 30 when the NBA Free Agency Period started, according to ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski.
The contact is four years and worth $141 million with the final year being a player option.
Back in October, Irving seemed to express his interest in re-signing with the Boston Celtics but throughout the course of the season back tracked on that statement, ultimately to end up in New York, but with a different team than most expected.
