Prior to the latest news, the Duke basketball program already appeared to hold an early edge over its competition in snagging five-star 2020 small forward Jalen Johnson. As of Monday night, though, the chances seem even better after he reportedly scheduled his first official visit — it will be to Durham.
According to a tweet by Jake Weingarten of Stock Risers, Johnson told him that he will arrive at Duke on Oct. 19 — the same day as Countdown to Craziness. Earlier this month, the Blue Devils’ coaching staff visited him at his Nicolet High School in Glendale, Wisc.
