Unfortunately, Haley Gorecki's time at Duke was ravished by injury, causing her to miss the NCAA Tournament in her earlier seasons.
However, the senior was putting together one of the best seasons in the ACC and had turned around a Duke season that looked to be slipping away earlier in the season.
Gorecki was snubbed of the conference's Player of the Year Award but had the Blue Devils in prime position to return to the NCAA Tournament for the first time since the 2017-18 season.
Duke earned the No. 3 seed in the ACC Tournament and a late run by Boston College downed the Lady Blue Devils in their first game of the postseason, but no one expected that it would be the last game of the season for Gorecki and her teammates.
