After suffering a tough loss at Pittsburgh over the weekend, Duke was able to defeat Wake Forest in their second to last game of the regular season hanging on for a tight 79-71 win. The Blue Devils were led by dominant performances from Grayson Allen and Marshall Plumlee.
Duke really struggled offensively making only 36.5% of their shots for the game. Fortunately, they were able to make up for their poor shooting with a nice defensive effort that forced 18 Demon Deacon turnovers leading to 19 Duke points. The game was close heading towards the end of the second half, but the Blue Devils were able to hold off Wake Forest’s comeback attempt and avoided the upset.
