In addition to an obvious floor leader, a hardnosed defender, and an elite decision-maker, the Duke basketball coaches saw what they were getting when Paul VI Catholic (Va.) point guard Jeremy Roach verbally committed back in May: a recovery in progress.
Just prior to the start of his junior season, during an exhibition game back in November, the 6-foot-2, 180-pound five-star came down wrong on his right knee and tore his ACL. At the time, doctors estimated he would not be able to play competitively again for nine months to a year.
Now that 10 months have passed, what everyone should now be able to see from his workout highlights this week is evidence Roach’s journey back to full strength has progressed without hiccups.
