For the second time this season, Marcus Stroman faced the defening World Series Champion Boston Red Sox and for the second time this season, Stroman dominated the Sox, leading the Toronto Blue Jays to a victory.
Stroman tossed six shutout innings, scattering five hits and one walk, while striking out six in Toronto’s 6-1 victory, which gave the Blue Jays the series win over Boston.
While Stroman was lights out against Boston, the Red Sox color commentator, Dennis Eckersley, said that Stroman’s celebration of striking out Eduardo Nunez was “tired”.
The strikeout of Nunez was Stroman’s last batter of the day, capping off his 104 pitch performance.
