The Duke Blue Devils took the floor Saturday night to play an actual opponent and it was the 38-0 Division II National Champion Northwest Missouri State who came into Cameron Indoor Stadium.
After holding a 20-point lead in the second half, the Blue Devils took its foot off the gas and Northwest Missouri State went on a 3-point barrage to cut it to a five point game in the final second, with Duke winning 69-63.
Tre Jones led the way with 18 points while Matthew Hurt added 17 points in the winning effort.
Duke looked stout defensive, especially when Jones and Jordan Goldwire were paired in the backcourt, but the half-court offense looked very stagnant.
